Applied Kinesiology and Neuro Emotional Technique

This structure is the official symbol of the International College of Applied Kinesiology. It is known as the Triad of Health. It is an equilateral triangle (pictured in blue), surrounded by the Five Factors of the vertebral foramen labeled in red. The five factors include the nerve, neuro lymphatic, neuro-vascular, cerebrospinal, fluid and (AMC) acupuncture meridian center.

Applied Kinesiology does take into consideration the important role of the accupuncture system in relation to the overall health of a person. There are two primary purposes for accupuncture. They include pain control and the balancing of energy. While we do not utilize needles within the practice, we do perform meridian therapy to balance energy.

The symbol is an equilateral triangle signifying all aspects of health are equal. Through various procedures you will be individually evaluated and a unique treatment that is RIGHT for you will be prescribed. This may include lifestyle changes such as drinking more water, changing or supplementing the diet and getting more sleep. It may include changes in exercise frequency and duration. To treat the effects of emotional stress termed as a "Neuro Emotional Complex" or NEC, we utilze Neuro Emotional Technique to neutralize the effects of these toxic emotions. Last and most traditionally, we treat the structure of the body utilizing the latest in techniques and technology. Common modalities include ice, heat, electric stim, ultrasound, soft tissue massage and of course the Chiropractic adjustment!

What is a
Chiropractic Adjustment?

Adjustments correct subluxations.  A subluxation is a scary word for a misalignment in the vertebrae of the spine. Consider an electrical fuse box. Each vertebrae acts much like a fuse. When there is a subluxation, it is a short in your nervous system. Dr. James Chestnut calls subluxation "our bodies greatest adaptation." They function to actually protect us from greater harm. This creates an imbalance in the body, which can lead to other problems if left undetected and uncorrected. If you are driving on a flat road, and the car veers to the right, would you purchase a new steering wheel? Most people would not. Typical causes for the faulty steering might include a flat tire or poor alignment. The human body may have a symptom (pain, sicknes, allergies and so on), but that may not be where the problem originated. By educating patients about how the body works, then a proper course of action can be applied.

When innate intelligence meets educated mind, then a proper diagnosis and treatment can be administered.”
-DD Palmer

“The cause of subluxation is trauma, poison, or auto-suggestion.” ~DD Palmer, (founder of chiropractic)

This quote basically describes the Triad of Health in the vernacular of his day. To adjust the spine is a wonderful gift. To find the cause of subluxation is an even greater gift. Without determining the proper cause (structure, chemistry or emotions) if we make an adjustment at the wrong time, it is possible to leave the body in a more vulnearable state than if subluxated. So how do we determine if your problem is one of structure, chemistry or emotions? Introducing Applied Kinesiology...

What is Applied Kinesiology ?

Applied Kinesiology is a cutting edge diagnostic and treatment technique utilizing manual muscle testing. Although AK is used to increase the accuracy of a diagnosis, it does not replace standard forms of diagnosis and treatment. We still take blood pressure, perform standard orthopedic and neurologic tests like any other responsible doctor. At Transformation Chiropractic we love to dig even deeper and ask "why." The focus in using this technique as an adjunct to chiropractic adjustments is to find the cause of the health problem.

AK was developed by George J Goodheart, Jr., D.C. from Detroit, Michigan in 1964. Over the next 40+ years, his innovative and inquisitive mind has attracted the minds and hearts of thousands of doctors across the world to further develop this wonderful technique of AK.

The model for AK is the Triad of Health, formed by Structure, Biochemistry, and Emotions.

Structure:

At the base of the triangle is structure. This foundational aspect involves the spine, bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, discs, etc. This is a traditional area of expertise amongst chiropractors.

Hippocrates said “Look to the spine first in health and in disease.”

Biochemistry:

This side involves the cells, tissues, organs, and systems. Biochemistry includes everything entering and exiting your body. The food you eat, the air you breathe along with anything else that can be inhaled or ingested. When a deficiency or excess occurs in the body, we look for the cause and appropriate solution.

“Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food.”
-Hippocrates

Emotions:

This side of the triangle is SO critical to balance and health and is THE most often overlooked. Emotions are normal. Often our reactions to emotions are not. WIth the stressful world we now live in, it is quite common for patients' emotions to go unresolved by the nervous system. Emotions are like food. They should be ingested, processed and excreted.

As we become overwhelmed and  our digestion of such events slows, we get backed up. Have you ever felt emotionally constipated? This clouds our thinking, affects our attitude and leaves us tired and unprodctive. Unfortunately a conditioned response  may occur in  similar and unrelated settings thus creating a “stuck emotional pattern.”

At Transformatoin Chiropractic we utilize  Neuro-Emotional Technique©. This is a remarkable, efficient, and exciting means of helping  the body resolve conditioned responses which could otherwise cause stress and DISease.
